Boyle Heights Community Partners is proud to have a new partner with our historic nomination program:
We would like announce our Student Program Internship with UCLA https://phi.history.ucla.edu/whatwedo/historycorps/remote-internships/
Activities
Student interns will participate in developing Historical Preservation Landmarking applications. This will involve researching the history and significance of a historic building or home in Boyle heights, drawing on archival resources, and writing up the application. Students will take ownership of protecting a historic space from demolition. This internship is a good fit for students interested in urban planning, historical preservation, and issues around gentrification and community activism.
Please note: While this internship takes place remotely, students should be located in Los Angeles and able to travel to Boyle Heights for site visits. These will take place outdoors and social distancing protocols will be maintained.
If you are a college student majoring in history, this is a great opportunity to learn in depth the history of Boyle Heights.
Please feel free to send your resume, letter of support from your instructor to:
Email us at HR@BoyleHeightsCommunityPartners.com along with your resume and reference.

Our 2020 UCLA Student Internship, on our Historic Places in Boyle Heights.
This is our first stop at Candelas Guitars, which our student Kim is conducting their research for the beginning stages of our Historic Cultural Monument application.
Nest we move to our fabulous Paramount Ballroom, with Grace and Nicholas working on the research for our Historical Cultural Monument research
And our last stop for lunch, with Alex leading the way for the research that he is doing for George's Burgers, and of course we had lunch here, though, due to Pandemic, we had to eat in the parking lot in the back. It wasn't so bad, we found shade.
